The Shoreline Range

The Shoreline range is my nod to the famous Fullerton guitars in terms of construction methods and pickup choices. The original body shape features classic styling blended with carefully chosen contemporary features and options. I select lighter weight bodies and match them with beautiful roasted maple necks. The combination of these timbers and the bolt on neck construction offers a very resonant and responsive experience, with an unmatched feel to the oil finished necks. The roasted maple is not only beautiful, it offers excellent stability and tone. The frets and fingerboard edges are carefully rounded to create the feel of an old friend, you will find this attention to detail throughout, with each Shoreline is lovingly crafted to inspire you the player.

Every guitarist is unique, and their instrument should reflect this individuality. With the Shoreline, you have the opportunity to customize aspects, from the finish and hardware to the pickup configuration, tailoring the guitar to suit your personal style and preferences. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions or to discuss an order, we are always happy to talk guitars.

Shoreline JM

Big tones and vintage vibes

The Shoreline JM captures the vibe of the 60s offset and surf guitars within the comfortable and balanced Shoreline body shape. I grew up in the 1990s, which was the era of Grunge and Alternative rock. This period saw a resurgence of the vintage offset style guitars being adopted by current bands. I wanted to iron out some of the creases in those vintage designs, but still have similar stylistic cues. The Shoreline JM offers modern, clean playability with it's 12" fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets, and oil finished neck. Available with a choice of pickup configurations, the most popular choices are the H90 set up with a P90 in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge, the HH with two humbuckers with coil splits, or the classic 2 P90 option with soap bars in both the neck and bridge positions.

Body

FSC certified Obeche.

This has become my number one favourite wood choice for most of my models. Obeche is a West African wood, its grain pattern resembles mahogany, although it is lighter in colour, closer to Korina in appearance and weight. It's incredibly resonant and musical and also nice to work with. The lighter weight makes it very comfortable for solid bodies, but it also chambers well for thinlines or hollowbodies. The tone is very balanced, clear trebles, warm bass and a little bit of mid-range push. I'm a big fan and feel grateful to have discovered this wonderful timber.

All our Obeche is sourced from well managed forests with FSC certification.

Neck

Canadian roasted sugar maple.

My absolute favourite neck material. I have a wonderful supplier for this maple who sources and processes all the logs himself in Canada. The quality is superb, and it is not only beautiful to look at, it is a joy to work with too. The heat treatment makes the timber supremely stable and resistant to humidity or temperature changes, and also increases the resonance, similarly to the natural ageing of wood. All Shoreline necks are hand finished with an oil and wax finish that feels just as incredible as it looks. As standard, I use a 12" fingerboard radius for a comfortable playing experience with clean fretting and string bending. My favoured fret wire is Jescar and the medium jumbo profile. Custom options are available. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Fingerboard options include Indian rosewood, figured roasted maple or ebony.

All the Shoreline necks are available in either a Standard C carve or my custom soft V carve, and both are available in three depths, Slim, Medium and Deep.

Any Shoreline model is available to order in three scale lengths:

Short scale 24", Standard scale 25.5" and Baritone scale at 28.65"

Hardware

Hardware is carefully selected for each model from the finest manufacturers. Machine heads by Gotoh. Bridges chosen for tone and intonation accuracy to suit each model. All pots are CTS and jacks and switches by Switchcraft. Pickups are carefully selected from a variety of top end makers depending on the model and desired tone, most commonly using British made Bare Knuckle Pickups or Mojo Pickups. Custom hardware requested can be entertained, so please feel free to get in touch.

Finish

As my personal choice, I favour a traditional nitrocellulose finish for my guitars. I like the look and feel of nitro, especially lightly aged to give a played in feel and a timeless look. We can of course offer other finishes including a variety of metallics, sparkles, high gloss and satin finishes and also hand rubbed oil and wax finishes.

Shoreline T

Leo changed the game forever

It is clear from the outset where the roots of this guitar lie. The Shoreline T is my interpretation of the birth of the electric guitar. Featuring a lightweight hand selected body paired with a beautiful bolt on maple neck, the Shoreline T is the perfect blend between tribute and innovation.

The lightweight body delivers a lively response and a fast attack to the note, rich with warmth while balanced with a sweet, crisp treble. When paired with the hollow snap of the bolt on maple neck, it really is a timeless combination.

Another Shoreline T standard feature is the 4 way switching. This adds an extra tonal option. In the fourth position, the neck and bridge pickups are combined in series for a fatter, almost humbucker type tone. It adds a nice extra versatility to an already versatile guitar.

Lots of custom options are available including various pickup configurations, Bigsby tremolo's, double binding, thinline body and more, so please feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Shoreline S

All the curves and contours

The Shoreline S series brings a lot of versatility to the Shoreline range. Available in multiple pickup configurations including SSS, HSS, HH, HSH and other custom combinations. The Shoreline S series is most commonly built with a tremolo, either a 6 screw vintage style with pressed saddles or a more modern style with sold saddles and two point mounting.

The Shoreline body shape features smooth and comfortable body contours for both the forearm and the ribcage. The elegant curves of the body shape balance well either on a strap or sat down on your lap.

The roasted maple necks are finished with a hand rubbed oil and wax finish, which brings out the natural beauty of the wood and feels smooth and silky to the touch.

Part of the beauty of the Shoreline S series is it can be voiced and finished to be a vintage-inspired classic, or with just a few tweaks to the pickup choices and hardware options it can become a very modern S type.

Shoreline in Action

Here's a lovely video of a Shoreline S being played by John Cordy.
It really shows what this guitar is about, clear, chimey tones with exceptional response. Please check out our YouTube channel to see more Shoreline demos featuring all the models and some wonderful players.
